Sports Page — The Saint Kitts and Nevis Table Tennis Association (SKNTTA) invites the public in St Kitts and Nevis to participate in its 1st Annual 2014 Laverne Merritt National Table Tennis Championships which kicks off from Friday 5th December to Saturday 6th December 2014 at the St Peters Community Centre from 6:00pm on Friday and 10:00am on Saturday.
The National Table Tennis Championships bring together the best table tennis players in St Kitts and Nevis battling for national titles in singles, doubles and team events in one of the most popular Olympic sports. Its one weekend of table tennis you won’t want to miss! It is also a fun way for your company/church/organization to get members and family involved in a fantastic social sport.
Patronage is expected from the sporting clubs and enthusiasts within St.Kitts and Nevis and the general community is implored to come out and enjoy the sport of table tennis. Teams will be comprised of a minimum of 3 players inclusive of at least one female and an Under-13 player (male or female).
The proposed 5-game format is as follows:
- 2 Men Singles
- 1 Female Single
- 1 Mixed Double and 1 Men Double
The Under-13 player on each team will participate in Junior Open Category.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the winning team will receive a National Championships Trophy and a cash prize. Registration is free.
