2017 to be a year of high activity

(ZIZ News) — Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris says “2017 will be a year of high activity, great enthusiasm and hope for our people.”

During a recent tour of the Pirate’s Nest Hotel and Condominium, the Prime Minister spoke of expectations for the tourism sector in the New Year.

“We expect to have many good news stories about tourism developments in St. Kitts and Nevis starting in the first quarter with the opening of the Park Hyatt which is of course the highest of the Park Hyatt brand. That will be opened in grand style in the first quarter and by the last quarter we are expecting that we will have the Radisson Ti-Loft property again showcasing, in terms of its opening,” he said.

He spoke specifically of advancements to be made in the cruise industry, stating “Next year also promises to be a busy one, not only for stay over but for cruise based tourism. So we will herald in the start of the second cruise pier which speaks to the confidence, not only of the government, but most importantly of the private sector stakeholders in the tourism plant of St. Kitts and Nevis.”

Prime Minister Harris said the government will continue to work with all the stakeholders for the realisation of their investment goals.
