A resident of West Bury in Nevis to serve jail time on gun charges

ZIZ News…Sept 13, 2012 — A young man from Nevis will have to spend the next seven years in jail after been convicted on several gun and ammunition charges.

Shaish James of West Bury was convicted for Possession of Fire Arm, Possession of Ammunition and Smuggling a Firearm into the Federation.

According to a Police report, the offences were committed on 26th April 2012 in Cotton Ground.

The report further stated that for Possession of Firearm, he was sentenced 7 years imprisonment, for Possession of Ammunition he was sentenced 3 years imprisonment, and for Smuggling a Firearm into Federation, he was sentenced for 2 years imprisonment.

The sentences are to run concurrently.

Meanwhile in other court news, Elenor Dash of Paradise Extension was convicted for Driving Without Due Care and Attention, and Driving Without Insurance, committed on 5th August 2012.

Elenor Dash was cautioned for Driving without Due Care, and fined $500.00 to be paid in one month or one month imprisonment for Driving without Insurance.
