Al Stars overpowers fighting Church Ground Team

The Nevis Sports Department/Development Bank of St.Kitts and Nevis Football league continued on Wednesday night at the ET Willet Park.

Match one, a female encounter, was not played as apparently by the time the umpires called off the match, not enough players for the two scheduled teams—Rozel’s team and Government Road All Stars, were present.

Match two however, was an exciting contest as Church Ground faced off with Pennyless All Stars.

Church Ground won the toss and batted first and scoured a competitive 77 for 4.  Tesson Maynard top scored with 28 and Frazer got 10. There were 21 extras.

For the All Stars team, Balgobin got 2 wickets for 4 runs and Akito Willet got 2 for 11.

The All Stars team lost early wickets in Alex Williams and Tonito Willet and was definitely struggling to get to the victory target but Akito Willet with 38 and extras with 18, helped them across the line.  The next best score was Harinarine with 5.

Ronald Maynard was the stand out bowler for the Church Ground team with his 3 for 15 and Devon got 1 for 22.

Pennyless All stars winning by 4 wickets.
