Ballistics Technology To Unravel Mystery In Unsolved Gun Related Crimes

(ZIZ News) — During an Internal Strategic Meeting with The Acting Minister Of National Security Hon Ian Patches Liburd, Members Of The Police High Command, and The St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Of Police, Hilroy Brandy explained that Ballistics Technology has been helping the police connect the dots to the many unsolved shooting incidents.

“All weapons that are taken off the streets are checked in our ballistics system to see if they’re matched with any of the incidents of crime in the federation.”

The Deputy Commissioner Responsible for Crime then explained how the seizure of 2 illegal firearms will help to solve a number of gun related crimes.

“So far this year, I can safely say, from the guns that were taken off the street, two weapons have tested positive for a number of incidents in both St. Kitts and Nevis”, he added.

The seizure of another illegal firearm on Monday May 23 brings to eleven (11) the number of illegal firearms seized in the Federation to date this year.
