Black San’ Bang-A-Lang 2013: We ready Again!

Sandy Point, St. Kitts and Nevis (January 22, 2012): Black San’ Bang-A-Lang 2013 is 60 days away and this year’s chant ‘Ready Again’ is already making the rounds as Sandy Point prepares to host its third annual community festival.

The month-long festival has become a fixture on the national calendar of events, and with this year’s exciting promotional videos and new events added to the festival, organizers have promised a real blast!

”We are 60 days ahead of the festival and it already feels like we are in full swing! Every week in the New Year we have released new promotional material, our talks with sponsors are shaping up nicely and volunteers and patrons have already begun requesting information via SPIRIT’s Facebook and Twitter. This year’s festival is gearing up to be a notch above the rest,” said President of parent body SPIRIT, Seanel Riley.

The 2013 festival is set to run from March 22 to April 6 and is packed with the signature events that Black San’ has become known for, as well as new events to excite and include all! Bang-A-Lang Avenue comes alive from the Friday-night warm up and will set the stage for the Saturday Tractorcade and Grand Opening on March 23. The following week kicks off with a Day of Church and a Takeaway family luncheon and rolls right into a fiery two-day basketball festival with some of SPABA’s and SKABA’s greatest facing off!

The crowd-drawing SPIRIT Game Show and the annual Endurance Bike-a-thon, and Drama Festival will wind that week up in preparation for Saturday night’s Knockshore Night SOS Fete on March 30 – set to be one of the biggest Black San’ events this year! But this is just the opener to an explosive weekend! The next few days will see three adrenaline-rushing, action-pumping events starting with the third staging of the Miss Black San’ Swimsuit Pageant on March 31, followed by the all-night SOS Pre-J’ouvert Warm-up. This then jams through the early hours of the morning and leads into the J’ouvert Jump-up and Beach Fete on April 1. Then on April 3, action of Bang-A-Lang Avenue will awaken the streets of Mount Idle.

The festival’s final weekend wraps up with a new ‘Night of Comedy’ event which will make way for the Black San Grand Parade bringing down the curtains on this year’s festival on Sunday, April 6.

SPIRIT PRO Che-Raina Warner said this year’s festival builds on last year’s successes and that patrons can expect the same safe, clean fun with much more excitement!

”Last year’s chant ‘Everybody come’ really worked! It brought people from all over together to enjoy the festival, and we want to build on that success by including events that we think would reach very different audiences but promote the very same ideals. Added to that, we have ensured many more chances to win tickets through online promotions such as our photo challenges, video promo and weekly festival trivia. ” Warner said.

There are still lots of opportunities for new sponsors, private donors and community groups to come onboard.Be among the first to see the new promotional materials for the festival by visiting www.blacksanbangalang.com and check out the news, more about SPIRIT and this year’s sponsors there.
