Brief Island wide outages scheduled for Saturday and Sunday

Basseterre, St. Kitts (November 24, 2011) – The St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) has announced that over the coming weekend, it will embark on a significant milestone in the company’s mission to provide a reliable electricity supply to its customers.

Chief Technical Officer John Krupski stated that, “an essential step in the company’s Reliability Improvement Programme will require interruption in the island’s electricity supply on Saturday and Sunday for a period of 75 minutes. In order to effect changes at the Needsmust Power Station, electricity supply will be interrupted on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 6:00am and 7:15am and all customers will be affected.”

SKELEC regrets any inconveniences that these scheduled interruptions in electricity supply may cause and reiterates its commitment to provide reliable electricity supply to all of its customers.

The St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) was formed on August 1, 2011 and is the sole provider of electricity supply to consumers on the island on St. Kitts.
