Bronx Crisis edges out champions CG Rebels in Nail Biter

Sports Page — It was easily the best match of the league so far. This as Bronx Crisis engaged champions CG Rebels in a high intensity game in the local Basketball league on Tuesday 20th May.

There was not a packed crowd at the Grell Hull-Stevens Netball Complex, but the spattering of spectators was highly entertained

To add to the intensity of the game, was the constant ribbing between current CG Rebels players and former players who now play for the Bronx Crisis, in Al Stapleton and Everson Webbe.

At the end of the first quarter, the scores were tied. Crisis dominated the second quarter by a crucial six points and Rebels came back to win the third by a mere one point.

At the end of the third quarter, Crisis led with the score line of 50 to 45 in their favour and their bench was buzzing with anticipation.

However, the champions CG Rebels pulled out all of the stops in the final quarter and won it by four points, but it was just not enough, as the breath taking final seconds in the last quarter had the spectators on the edge of their seats.

However, it was just not enough. They needed one more point to tie the game and two points to win it.

Bronx Crisis had sealed the deal by the closest of margins. One crucial point!

Final score:
Bronx Crisis 70 CG Rebels 69
