Caribbean Cable Communications explains Internet Issues

Charlestown – 15 November, 2012 – Caribbean Cable Communications today announced that it has resolved the technical issues that have caused intermittent interruptions to its Internet and telephone service over the past few days. As soon as the problems were identified, high-level engineers worked around-the-clock to correct the problems and put in place additional security measures to safeguard against future issues.

“We sincerely apologise to our customers for this incident, which was the result of a malicious and criminal cyber attack on our systems,” says John Grey, Caribbean Cable’s Chief Operating Officer. “We have pinpointed the problems and taken a series of corrective actions and measures to restore service and ensure system stability and security.

Customers should rest assured that none of their sensitive information, including data, passwords or names and addresses, has been compromised.”

“Unfortunately, we live in a world today where even the largest global companies are sometimes victims of cyber crime,” he added. “We take our responsibilities to our customers very seriously, and it is difficult to express our profound dismay at this unprecedented attack. We thank our customers for their trust and understanding and wish to reiterate our ongoing commitment to providing them with excellent service.”
