Carol Smith of Future Travel Scoops First Prize in St. Kitts and Nevis Competition

London, 22 October 2010: Travel agent, Carol Smith, from Future Travel, has scooped the first prize of a fantastic holiday for two to St. Kitts and Nevis in the ‘Two Plantations – One Paradise!’ competition in association with TTG. With her entry, Carol wins a seven-night twin-centre holiday, staying three nights at Ottley’s Plantation Inn on St. Kitts and four nights at Nisbet Plantation Beach Club in Nevis, flying with British Airways.

In the Competition, entrants were asked to compose a tale or rhyme in no more than 300 words which must include five factual points each about St. Kitts, Nevis, Ottley’s, Nisbet and British Airways. To be entitled, ‘My twin-centre tale’, agents were asked to be as imaginative as possible with their entry for a chance to win one of three prizes up for grabs.

Carol’s entry beautifully captured the essence of St. Kitts and Nevis, from the heritage and culture including world class historic attractions to the festivals including the St. Kitts Music Festival and Nevis’ Culturama Festival while also describing the different experiences awaiting visitors.

“This is one of the most fantastic prizes I have ever won,” said Carol from Future Travel, “I still can’t believe I am actually going to St. Kitts and Nevis.” Of her entry she said, “I’ve always loved writing and while the entry took a bit of research, I really enjoyed doing it and now know a great many facts about these two beautiful islands to sell them more effectively.”

Lisa Elmes-Bosshard, UK Consultant for the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, said, “First of all a big thank you to all those who entered the Competition, to British Airways for supplying the flights and to Ottley’s Plantation Inn, St. Kitts and Nisbet Plantation Beach Club, Nevis, who offered the prize accommodation.”

“We were very impressed with Carol’s poetic entry which truly reflected the uniqueness of the destinations as well as Ottley’s and Nisbet. Carol had really done her homework and in the judge’s opinion, her entry stood out as the most exciting and factually correct twin-centre tale.”

Two lucky agents, Claire Robbins from CV Travel and Julie Underwood from Future Travel, have also won 2nd and 3rd prizes, awarding them a place on a St Kitts FAM in 2011, courtesy of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. All entrants will also receive a St. Kitts goody bag.
