CASH PRIZES for the top six (6) placing schools at the 36th Edition of the TDC Interschool Championships

ZIZ News…March 19 2012 — The Executive Body of the St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association, has approved CASH PRIZES for the top six (6) placing schools at the 36th Edition of the TDC Interschool Championships in the sum of EC12,500.00.

The cash prizes will be awarded as follows:

• 1st Place – EC5000.00
• 2nd Place – EC3000.00
• 3rd Place – EC2000.00
• 4th Place – EC1000.00
• 5th Place – EC750.00
• 6th Place – EC500.00

The winning schools will be determined by the most gold medals and the flow for the remaining positions will follow that descending order. In the event there is a tie for gold medals, the school with the most silvers will be awarded the winner. The same procedure will be applied to the bronze medal category in the event there is a tie with gold and silver.

It is important to note that our principle sponsor, the St. Kitts and Nevis Trading Development Group of Companies (TDC) will be celebrating their 35th year of sponsorship to our championships. Joining LIME and Coco-Cola as long term and major sponsor will be Western Union will be joining the sponsorship table as Silver Sponsors for this year’s championships.

Amongst the highlights, we will for the first time be introducing the combination events with the Heptathlon (7 events) for the Under 15 Male and Female category. The winner for this multi-event discipline, will be determined by the total points accumulated at the completion of all seven (7) events. There is a plan to continue introducing the multi events in the Under 17 and Under 20 category in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

The SKNAAA will for the very first time be streaming the championships LIVE with full commentary, blogging, photos and results!

The 2012 TDC Interschool Championships will be held at the Silver Jubilee Athletic Stadium in Bird Rock from Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th March 2012. Competition commences at 2pm daily with the Opening Ceremony and March Past commencing at 6pm on Friday along with the Aquavita Cheerleading Competition Commencing at 7pm. Admission, Kim Collins Pavilion – EC20.00, Stands – EC15.00, Grounds – EC10.00 and Children EC5.00.
