CEMSS receives new intercom system

(ZIZ News) — The staff and students of the Charles E Mills Secondary School are the proud recipients of a new state of the art intercom system courtesy of the Sandy Point Benevolent Society.

The group presented the system during a handing over ceremony at the school grounds on Friday.

Principal of the Charles E Mills Secondary School, Carla Diamond thanked the Sandy Point Benevolent Society (SPBS) for continuously supporting the school.

“Without hesitation, SPBS rose to the occasion and put mechanisms in place to ensure the safety and security of staff and students alike, when they purchased, paid to ship and install an intercom system for the school. Benevolence is at the heart of the Sandy Point Benevolent Society and as mandate dictates it has always been there to give partnership to the Charles E Mills Secondary School”, she stated.

Speaking on behalf of The Minister of Education, Hon. Shawn Richards was Special Advisor to the Minister of Youth, Vernon Connor.

He encouraged the students to cherish the donated system.

“I do not want you to take this gift, this new installation for granted because this new intercom system puts Charles E Mills Secondary School above all the other high schools in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis by far”, he said.

The intercom system was described as critical to facilitating school safety drills and general school security.

It is valued at over twenty thousand US dollars.
