Classical Music to be Played by Youths on St. Kitts

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 01, 2013 – There is a demand for classical musical entertainment within the Federation and the Lawrence School of Music continues to supply.

Now in its 32nd year, past and present students of the Lawrence School of Music will showcase the results of weeks of disciplined practice to their families, friends and members of the general public at the annual Pianoforte Concert. This will be held on Tuesday 9th July, 2013 at the Wesley Methodist Church, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Adult tickets are on sale for EC$20 from students of the School while children pay EC$10 at the door.

This event gives families a chance to support their loved ones who in turn are prized with pride, achievement and a great sense of self worth. The funds earned from this concert are traditionally donated to churches on St. Kitts. Last year the St. Paul’s Anglican Church was the recipient and this year the St. Johnston’s Methodist Church will receive the funds earmarked for Church renovations.

The Lawrence School of Music opened its doors in 1970. The concerts followed a few years later, 32 years ago, as a means for parents to see the progress of their children.
