Contec lay ‘concrete plans’ to support primary school children’s health and learning

ZIZ News…15 May 2010 – Young pupils from the Tyrell-Williams Primary School in Old Road will benefit from the construction of a multi-purpose outdoor court thanks to a donation from local company, Contec DT.

A kind donation in the form of concrete means that young pupils from the Tyrell-Williams Primary School will now be able to have fun and also learn from a multi-purpose court. The court, which is now under construction, was the brain child of a student at the St Kitts campus of the University of the West Indies, Michelle Woodley.

One of the requirements of Michelle’s course is to undertake an improvement project. The student contacted Contec DT who kindly agreed to donate the concrete, which meant Michelle could now make ‘concrete plans’ of her idea.

Jacqueline Antoine Rawlins is the Manager of Corporate Service and Human Resource at Contec DT. She says her company was delighted to get involved in this worthwhile project. She says it’s Contec’s way of giving back to the local community, and enables them to play a major role in improving the health of the Federation’s next generation.

Jacqueline Antoine Rawlins made the official presentation on behalf of Contec DT to Michelle Woodley.
