Cultural music workshop ends

A music workshop focusing on cultural styles wrapped up on Saturday with a concert and awards ceremony at Port Zante.

Over the past few weeks Winston Zack “Nisbett” has been teaching about 25 children how to play instruments that are part of a cultural heritage. These include the banjo, fife, guitar and quattro.

Nisbett says it’s important to educate the children about the music and instruments that are a part of our heritage.

He said the young musicians play a critical role in the historical, cultural and socio-economic development of our people.
