DANCE WORKS…this Saturday Night

(Basseterre, St. Kitts April 12): After months of intense training, the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College’s 43 member Dance Ensemble is happy to announce that they are more than ready to stage their production ‘DANCE WORKS’ on Saturday April 14th 2012.

As a training ground for the Federation’s future leaders in the arts, the dancers were encouraged to contribute greatly to the choreography of the pieces and do their own music selection. President Candace Richards has indicated that that the general public is in for a treat and that all original dances will be presented.

The CFBC Dance Ensemble is on a mission to demonstrate that there are still many youngsters who are committed to outstanding performances in not only the academics but in their extracurricular activities as well. These creative young minds are well on their way to charting a positive path for future generations in their quest to become well rounded and self sufficient individuals. Moreover, the dance club boasts an extremely talented and diverse membership base. Not only will there be works of dance in jazz, ballet-lyrical and african, but one can expect beautiful performances in song and poetry in addition to musical renditions on the steel pan and piano.

Director of Fireflies Dance School and Dance Ambassador, Heidi Slack who assists the Dance Ensemble expressly stated how impressed she was as she observed the dancers. She said, “It’s been great observing the drive, commitment and countless hours that they have dedicated to their production. I am certain that all of their hard work will make Dance Works a tremendous success.”

As they make their final strides towards the end of this enormous goal they have set for themselves, they continue to receive full support from their Director, Ms. Julie Martin, to whom they would like to express gratitude for her sound guidance throughout the preparatory stages. Thanks are also extended to Shara-Lee Mourillon, Shanda LaBega, Ozelle Martin (all CFBC Dance Ensemble alumni), Sun Island Clothes, Plush Accessories and Morton’s Supermarket for their assistance..

“DANCE WORKS” will be held at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium (ECCB) in Bird Rock at 7 p.m. A few tickets are still available at Plush Accessories, Morton’s Supermarket and the CFBC’s Main Campus on Burdon Street.
