BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MARCH 12TH 2013 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is being credited for the island being chosen to locate the Imperial Bay St. Kitts Golf and Beach Residences.

Principle developer, Dr. Sirous Montevessal speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the US$10 million 86 one-bedroom condominium units noted that St. Kitts and Nevis has a Government that understands the need for foreign investment and the country and a Prime Minister who genuinely cares for his people.

He also pointed out that countries around the world are competing for foreign investment dollars.

“My partners and I could have chosen any of a number of other countries to do business. A fair question then would be Why St. Kitts and Nevis? The answer quite simply is that your Prime Minister made an excellent case for us to visit. Once I visited, the island’s beauty coupled with the warmth and kindness of its people kept me. In fact, so much so, that I personally became a citizen through the Citizenship By Investment Programme,” Dr. Montevassal said.

He said that all the funding for the project was raised outside of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“Consequently this project represents all new monies coming into the economy of St. Kitts and Nevis and all work performed on the project will be contracted locally thus keeping as much of the new monies circulating within the St. Kitts and Nevis economy,” said Dr. Montevassal.

“It is the view of my partners and I that this development must be mutually beneficial to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis and ourselves as investors. It is our intention to continue to invest in the country once the existing investment environment is maintained,” he told persons at the ground breaking ceremony.

According to Dr. Montevassal, St. Kitts and Nevis can boast that it has all the right ingredients to make its investment environment attractive to outside investors.

“The country is blessed with a highly literate and intelligent work force, a warm and receptive people, a Government that understands and catalyzes foreign investment in its country and a Prime Minister who genuinely cares for his people and is on a relentless mission to better their lives,” said Dr. Montevassal, who added:

“From my first encounter with the Rt. Honourable Prime Minister this was made abundantly clear. This is one of the main reasons why I am so happy to be able to now move from the design stage to the construction stage of this project – the stage where people can now be put to work on this project and resultantly, the lives of people can continue to improve.”

The developer said while many other projects will be needed, St. Kitts and Nevis as a country, continue along the path that has been carved.

“By doing so, I am confident your economy, your people and indeed your country, will continue to achieve the success it has seen over the years,” Mr. Montevassal said.
