Fatal accident in Nevis

(ZIZ)– The Traffic Department in Nevis is investigating a fatal traffic accident which occurred around 9:30 p.m Sunday evening along the island’s main road at Stoney Grove in the vicinity of Horsford’s Hardware.

Public relations officer of the St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Iinspector Lyndon avid, in speaking with Jasmine Thomas via ZIZ radio on Monday, gave details surrounding the accident.

“What our initial investigation revealed is that 28 year old Alex Brown of Gingerland was travelling in his motor car PA 931 towards Charlestown. He had a passenger in the vehicle with him and as they got into that area, the vehicle collided into a wall fence and the vehicle broke in two. He was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The passenger, Nigella Brown of West Berry, 18 years old, was taken to the hospital and is currently at that hospital receiving  medical attention.”

Inspector David took the opportunity to express condolences to the family of the deceased and encouraged drivers to drive safely.

“We will continue our investigations in this matter. At this time, we, as a Police Porce would like to the relatives and loved ones of Alex Brown. I would also like to encourage persons to use the road safely and wisely.”
