Fire and Rescue Services respond to boat fire at Port Zante Marina

ZIZ News…March 28 2012 — A boat fire earlier today, Wednesday March 28, caught the attention of a number of persons as they made their rounds on the Bayfront.

On duty Police men on bicycles were alerted to the fire and soon after the Fire and Rescue Services responded in quick time and were able to control the fire on the speed boat which was up in flames while tied to a small pier at the Marina located on the western side of Port Zante.

It is not known what caused the fire but shortly after a huge plume of black smoke was seen rising into the air.

No one was injured in the fire and investigations are ongoing into the exact cause of the fire.
