Former Nevis health minister bashes Brantley on environmental health

(ZIZ)– ZIZ news has learnt that residents of the Lower St. John’s Parish area in Nevis are outraged at a stench that has spread throughout the area as a result of poor waste disposal.

Recently, popular internet blogger and known supporter of the Nevis Reformation Party [NRP] Carissa Browne posted photos of a hole in the St. John’s Parish area that she alleges is being improperly used for waste disposal.

In the caption she wrote “this court appointed CCM Government is using that open hole to dump all the waste that they remove from septic tanks all over Nevis.”

The post, which strongly chastises the performance of the Honourable Mark Brantley as a Health Minister, received numerous comments with unflattering words about the minister.

On Wednesday, ZIZ news spoke with the island’s former health minister, Hensley Daniel who said the Concerned Citizens Movement [CCM] government cannot compare to his NRP government’s work in environmental health.

“As far as I know, when we were in government the liquid waste was treated and of course they couldn’t do that there. They couldn’t do that. That couldn’t be done. That just speaks to the total incompetence of the minister and the ministry of health. Absolute incompetence,” he said.
