Four cruise ships with over 7,000 passengers visited St. Kitts Thursday, over 17,000 for this week

(CUOPM) – St. Kitts on Thursday November 28th experienced its busiest day of the 2013/2014 cruise ship season with the arrival of over 7,000 passengers onboard four ships.

This brings to 17,491 the number of passengers visiting St. Kitts for this wk onboard 9 ships.

The Horizon, on its maiden or inaugural visit, arrived from St. Lucia with 973 passengers and a crew of 628 and docked at the deep water port at Bird Rock.

The Ventura with 2,032 passengers and a crew of 1,155 arrived from Dominica and docked at Port Zante.

The MSC Musica, also on its first call, arrived from St. Lucia with 2,271 passengers and crew of 964 and berth at Port Zante.

The Aida Bella, with 2,033 and crew of 652, arrived from Tortola and dropped anchor in the Port of Basseterre.

Most of the 7,309 passengers came ashore and went on sight-seeing tours in Basseterre and island wide via the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, buses or taxis.

Scores headed for Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, sea and sun bathing on the beaches, snorkeling, sailing to Nevis, horseback riding, golfing, casino gambling, shopping and biking while others took time to surf the internet and make contact with friends and family.

On Monday, 2,358 passengers were on board the Celebrity Summit on Monday, 293 on the Seabourn, 3,667 on the Adventure of the Seas and 197 on the Seabourne Pride on Tuesday and 2,667 on the independence of the Seas on Wednesday.

The Carnival Valor is scheduled to make its weekly call on Friday.
