Free Health Festival for Nurses and the Public

Two separate healthcare drives got underway in St. Kitts today: one for members of the general public and the other specifically designed for staff of the J.N.F General Hospital.

The Health and Fitness Festival is being conducted by practitioners who are here on a mission organised by the Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Members of the public seized the opportunity to have their pressure tested, their weight and height checked and their glucose levels tested. They were also given medical advice on HIV/AIDS and information on eating healthy.

Meanwhile, the staff of the General Hospital received further information on a number of topics they come across every day.

These topics included physical assessment documentation, administering nebulizer treatment, IV starting and blood-glucose monitoring and peritoneal dialysis.

The Health and Fitness Festival continues on Friday at the Independence Square.
