Health Ministry officials visit the elderly

(ZIZ News) — As part of the activities to recognize contributions of the elderly, representatives from the Ministry of Health conducted a walk-through and visited shut-ins and centenarians of Constituency #8.

Among them was Minister of Health, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton who made presentations to the eldest of those visited.

“As we celebrate the month of the elderly it is important that the ministry visit old the elderly and we’ve chosen the oldest of the elderly in the community. Miss Griffin is one of them and so today it is my pleasure on behalf of the ministry to present her with this token of appreciation for all she has done in the days when things were very rough working hard in those estates and everything else so we can enjoy the St. Kitts that we have today,” he said.

Minister Hamilton spoke of the ministry’s continued support for the elderly

“It still is a wonder to me when people who live that long seem to reach that age and their site is usually not affected at all but the ministry is happy to share with older folks as they get older and show our appreciation for what they have done for our country,” he said.
