High Schools receive important TVET tools

Charles E. Mills Secondary

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 12, 2013 (SKNIS): The Ministry of Education has taken another step towards the enhancement of the technical programmes available at the Charles E. Mills Secondary and Verchilds High School by donating a number of tools for the programmes’ development on Monday (March 11).

Glenn Edwards, Education Officer Responsible for TVET, stated the main focus of the donations was geared towards the development of the wood-works and agriculture science subjects. Both are a part of the Caribbean Vocational Qualification Programme (CVQ). He also noted that the Ministry of Education has always looked to ways it can help enhance learning and providing tools to improve the mentioned subjects demonstrated that.

Deputy Principal of the Verchilds High School Roger Woodley expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education and praised the Ministry for taking the initiative to provide the items.

Meanwhile the Principal of Charles E. Mills Secondary Carla Diamond assured that the equipment will be put into good use.

Items donated included hand drills, power drills, mini-cultivators, knapsack sprayers and hoses.
