Ilegal Firearms Recovered

ZIZ News…April 29, 2010 – As a result of the continued assistance from the general public two (2) more illegal firearms have been taken into police custody. During the afternoon of Wednesday 28th April 2010 members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defense Force found one (1) .38 revolver with three (3) rounds of matching ammunition while on an operation at White’s Mountain in the Cayon area.

Also on Thursday 29th April 2010 to be exact, the Police found one (1) .22 revolver and three (3) rounds of matching ammunition in an abandon building in the Irish Town area.

These weapons and ammunition will be made available for further analysis if necessary. No one has been made answerable for the illegal firearms but investigations are ongoing.

These have brought the total number of illegal fire arms to be taken in custody to sixteen (16) for 2010. The police wish to again thank the general public for their continued assistance.
