(ZIZ News) – An exhausted Jackiema Flemming returned home on Monday afternoon, having competed in the 2015 Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Pageant.
Upon her arrival at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, Flemming was greeted by Special Envoy in the Ministry of Culture, Jonel Powell who commended her for representing the federation with pride.
He urged her to continue being a positive role model for the nation’s youth.
“We know that you’re no stranger to pageantry and we have seen your talents and I would like to say thank you as well for going out and representing the country as well as you did,” Powell said during a short welcome reception.
“It is not easy I know going into shows and competing, much more to go around the world to do so and so again I say congratulations and job well done. I think you are a positive role model for young women and young people on a whole and I encourage you to keep it up,” he said.
In speaking with ZIZ News, Flemming described her participation as an unforgettable experience, noting “to my knowledge I think I did a wonderful job representing my federation and myself in Sanya, China at the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Pageant.”
She added, “I took great pleasure in telling everyone about St. Kitts and Nevis. I made some great bonds; I’m going to have some friends visiting here with their families so I think I did a really good job and I think I boosted our tourism industry just a tad bit more.”
She thanked all who played a role in helping to fulfill her dream of competing in the prestigious pageant.
The Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Pageant, held in Sanya, China, was won by Miss Spain Mireia Lalaguna Royo.
