JLPS Team pays homage

Coach Kurvin Wallace

ZIZ News…March 23 2012 — An impressive entourage visited the Nevis Sports Museum on Thursday 22nd March. That is when the entire 2012 Inter Primary track team from the Joycelyn Liburd Primary School passed by to pay final respects to a former student of the school.

The students accompanied by their Coaches and a few Teachers, viewed the special display set up on behalf of the late Runako Morton who commenced his formal education at the school. They all signed in the book of condolence and the visitors’ book. They were also able to view a part of the video of the recent funeral service held at the ET Willet Park during which some of them were involved in the bat salute in honour of the fallen hero.

Head Coach Kurvin Wallace noted that the team was on its way to the ET Willet Park for a training session but decided to make the stop on the way there to pay homage to the late star athlete from the school. He was also able to show his young guards a picture of himself on the wall of fame, beating Kim Collins, during his glory days.

The children all seemed enthused about their visit to the Sports Museum and also took time to have a close up look at the other exhibits.
