Jouvert Morning 2013
ZIZ News — Thousands of revellers came out to participate in this year’s Jouvert Morning Jam. Bands and Troupes were on the road as early as four thirty a.m.
Nu vybes, Small Axe, Kollision and Grandmasters were all on the road before 6 am with Nu Vybes leading the largest crowd.
The Xtreme Jouvert Troupe and the Red Devils Troupe had the largest contingent.
The top Road March contenders are “Wuk It” by Mr. Hype, “Wuk Up” Session by Kollision Band and “Freaky Ga”l by Nu Vybes Band.
Security forces were seen patrolling Basseterre however no major incidences of violence have been reported.
Carnival celebrations continue with the National Carnival Queen Pageant on the 27th. The Senior Calypso Monarch Finals and Inception fete on the 28th, Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant on the 30th and the Carnival Parades from the 31st to the 1st of January.
