Junior Achievement St Kitts Nevis Trade Fair Underway

(ZIZ News) — The Junior Achievement St. Kitts Nevis Company Program and the National Entrepreneurial Development Division (NEDD) are preparing to host the annual J.A. Trade Fair on Friday.

Executive Director of Junior Achievement St. Kitts Nevis, Tracey Herbert says persons can expect to see eco-friendly products on display.

“We can expect the students showcasing their products. The products that they are showcasing will be featuring a lot of innovation and creativity. We have encouraged the students to be environmentally conscious, eco-friendly so you will be seeing reusable products”, Herbert said.

Director of the National Entrepreneurial Development Division (NEDD), Phillip Brown explained the importance of the initiative.

“This initiative is extremely important for NEDD. In fact, perhaps it is a natural progression in that our agenda at NEDD is the development and the fostering of an entrepreneurial culture in our country. Our aim is to ensure that we assist with the development of a sector of entrepreneurs and small businesses. There’s no better way to go about that than staring with the youth”, he noted.

Five schools: The Basseterre High School, Charlestown Secondary, Gingerland Secondary, The Verchild’s High School and the Washington Archibald High School will vie for top honours at the public exhibition and competition.

The Trade Fair will run from 10 am to 5 pm at the old Treasury Apron on Port Zante.
