Junior Achievement Student Entrepreneurs to showcase Successful Companies at Competition

ZIZ News…Nov 23, 2012 — Two Secondary Schools of the St. St. Kitts-Nevis Junior Achievement Company Program have been awarded finalists in the upcoming international Company of the Year competition which will be held in Montevideo Uruguay from November 27 -30, 2012. They are the Washington Archibald High School and the Basseterre High School. They will be showcasing products, Business Plans and Marketing Strategies from their companies – “Wildly Creative” and “Thrifty Trendz” respectively. This is an annual event held by Junior Achievement Worldwide and it attracts several countries within the Americas Region thanks to the generosity of its sponsor, FedEx who contributes significantly to the event. After three days of intense competition, finalists will attend an awards ceremony on November 29, 2012, during which the Hemispheric JA Company of the Year will be announced.

Twenty-one student companies from 13 countries in the Americas Region will compete in the finals. JA operations in Central America, North America, South America and the Caribbean will be represented by successful local JA teams.

In addition to announcing the JA Company of the Year, the upcoming celebration will recognize the winner of the FedEx Access Award. This award will be presented to the student company that best addresses the concepts of international trade, resource management, environmental sustainability and global market expansion.

Junior Achievement St, Kitts-Nevis expresses its gratitude to al local sponsors who have made the local JA Program possible over the last 8 years.
