Kalia Huggins wins National Queen Pageant title

New National Carnival Queen, Miss Development Bank, Kalia Huggins and her runners up

ZIZ News…Dec 28 2011 – Miss Development bank Kalia Huggins did enough on Tuesday night to capture the National Queen Pageant from a field of six contestants.

Before a packed Sugar Mill at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium the new National Queen performed exceptionally in all four segments to win the title.

Kalia amassed a total of 431.5 points beating her closest competitor by 5.5 ponts.

The other positions went to 1st runner up – Miss Carib Brewery, Trevicia Adams amassing a total of 426 points and the 2nd runner up went to Miss National Bank, Desri Weekes with a total of 425 points.

Meanwhile in the other categories Miss St Kitts Music Festival, Jody Carter was adjudged Miss Amity, Winner of Swimsuit Appearance- Ms Carib Brewery, Trevecia Adams with 94 points, Winner of National Pride Segment – Ms Development Bank, Kalia Huggins with 85 points while the Best Performing Talent went to Ms National Bank, Desri Weekes with 90 points.

Trevicia Adams sponsored by Carib Brewery and Miss St Kitts Music Festival, Jody Carter scored 93.5 points in the Interview segment.

Iantavian Queely the 2010/2011 National Queen gave her final walk and thanked all those who assisted her during her one year reign.

The action continues at the Sugar Mill this evening when seven calypsonians will be trying to dethrone the reigning King Pungwa to win the Senior Calypso Monarch title. The finalists are King Konris, Big Lice, I Soursop, Queen Anastasia, King Godfrey, King Socrates and Mighty Takeover all doing battle against King Pungwa.
