ZIZ News…Dec 29 2011 – A packed Sugar Mill witnessed calypso at its best in the LIME Senior Calypso King competition when King Konris after taking a break came back to regain his crown from a field of eight competitors.

He performed the songs “Oil and Water” which basically calls for the Caribbean to come together and “Twenty/Twenty” which is calling on the leaders, politicians and people in general to open their eyes and act now if we want to better our conditions and don’t wait until 2020 as it would be too late.

The King Konris after coming on stage in the eighth position amassed a total of 1144 points to dethrone the King Pungwa who placed 1st Runner Up with a total of 1100 points.

A strong contender for the crown lastnight, Big Lice, took the second runner up spot with a total of 1052 points and third runner-up went to Queen Anastasia with 1020 points.

A huge crowd turned out for the showdown and gave their support to their favorite calypsonians despite the intermittent showers.

The carnival action continues tonight with the 32nd Digicel Haynes Smith Talented Teen Pageant scheduled for Carnival Village starting at eight o’clock. SIOBHAN PHIPPS will be representing St. Kitts in Pageant.

ZIZOnline.com will be streaming the show live from Carnival Village.
