LIME named Platinum Sponsor of the St. Kitts Music Festival for Sweet 16 celebrations

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS: 20th June, 2012 – Continuing a 16-year tradition, LIME, has once again signed on as the platinum sponsor for the staging of the Sweet 16 Edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival (SKMF). The St. Kitts Music Festival is slated for June 28-30, at the historic Warner Park, Basseterre, St. Kitts and is one of the most highly anticipated national events.

The General Manger of the Federation’s leading telecoms provider, David Lake handed over a cheque valued at EC$200,000 to SKMF Committee Chairperson, Farron Lawrence. This is not only symbolic of the company’s commitment to boosting our tourism product, but also to provide positive, quality entertainment for patrons – both locals and visitors alike.

The annual event, which is a highly-regarded musical extravaganza promises to be “an experience like no other.” The Sweet 16 Edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival will bring together a variety of “big name” acts like Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, Roberta Flack, Toni Braxton, Machel Montano and Omarion and local sensations including Shakki, Star Fire, Nicha B, and Ali Dee.

This year’s staging will definitely provide a boost for the tourism industry as it will attract thousands of visitors to our shores during the off season. Local artistes will be featured on the event thereby giving them exposure to a global music market. A number of events and activities are slated to take place leading up to the main event that will operate to stimulate the local economy. In addition the St. Kitts Music Festival is positive entertainment that serves as a cultural exchange that exposes patrons to diverse music genres.

According to SKMF Chairperson, “The staging of the event this year marks our 16th anniversary celebrations. LIME St. Kitts and Nevis has been with us since inception and has continued through the years to provide very premium sponsorship for the event. This year, patrons can expect an impressive presentation of great performers and quality entertainment in a safe, fun environment.”

Additionally, LIME will be giving away a number of St. Kitts Music Festival tickets leading up to the event through a number of radio stations.
