KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was fined J$25,000 or two months after he pleaded guilty in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court to hitting his child’s mother all over her body with a standing fan.
Reports are that Duran Blair 26, of a Cedar Valley Road address in St Andrew had an argument with the complainant, which allegedly ended with him hitting her repeatedly with the fan
“How you know each other? Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly-Williams asked the complainant.
“Father of my child,” she replied.
“How much you spend in hospital?” Shelly-Williams continued.
“J$3,000,” the complainant replied.
The accused man was asked to pay the cost and subsequently fined.
He is to serve two months in prison if the fine isn’t paid.
