Minister congratulates Allan Davis on attaining 93 Years

St. Kitts, April 28, 2010 (SKNIS): Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Post Honourable Glenn Phillip visited Allan Davis of Halfway Tree when he celebrated his 93rd Birthday Sunday, April 25.

Minister Phillip who is also the Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #4 along with Social Assistance Supervisor Mrs. Ann Wigley wished Mr. Davis all the best on the anniversary of his birth. Mrs. Wigley observed that Mr. Davis had seen much improvement since his last birthday noting that at that time he had been ill and in bed. At his present birthday he was able to sit up and his face was much “brighter.” Social Assistance Supervisor Wigley gave the credit of Mr. Davis’ improvement to his daughter Florence “Napa” Williams who is his caretaker.

Greetings were expressed on behalf of the Constituency by Minister Phillip who echoed the sentiments of Mrs. Wigley who took the opportunity to acknowledge Mr. Davis for his tangible contribution to national development. She noted that in his day, he was a dedicated worker on the sugar cane estate. He stands as a shining example to his six children, 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She said that the Ministry of Social Development saw it as a privilege to recognize Mr. Davis on his birthday and continue to carry out its role of assisting members of society who are often overlooked.
