Minister Liburd pleased with work in her ministries, particularly Ministry of Health

(ZIZ News) — The Hon. Marcella Liburd recently joined her Cabinet colleagues in delivering Independence greetings to residents and citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis. During her remarks, Minister Liburd spoke with pride of the advancements made in her ministries.

She said “I can say that I am pleased with the progress we have made in Health, in the empowerment of our women and our efforts at gender equality, at the reduction in poverty, in the improvement and the delivery of our social services, the development of our communities as we strive to bring back community spirit throughout the entire country and the promotion of our cultural industries.”

Speaking specifically of the Ministry of Health, Minister Liburd announced that this month will see the launch of a Hospital Information System at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.

Another major development within the Ministry of Health that will soon be rolled out is the National Health Insurance Scheme.

“As we celebrate 31 years, we believe that Health underpins all of the development of our country and that is why we are very pleased that shortly, we will see the implementation of the first phase of our National Health Insurance Scheme,” she explained.
