Model Safe Schools Roadshow Held At Various Schools Across SKN

A roadshow promoting the concept of safe schools and the implementation of the Model Safe School Programme (MSSP) in the Caribbean was held this week from November 26-30, 2018. The Model Safe Schools Roadshow, which took the format of a school assembly, shared the message of school safety with the students.

The Road Show was designed to sensitize youth, teachers, parents and the public in an entertaining way about the processes that result in safer and greener educational facilities, as well as to inform them of the implementation of the project.

In an effort to further engage the youth the MSSP mascot visited the selected schools including the Washington Archibald High School, Tyrell Williams Primary and the Dieppe Bay Primary schools in St. Kitts and the Charlestown and Gingerland Secondary Schools on Nevis.

The MSSP project is being executed by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) through its coordinating unit in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

The roadshow will take place simultaneously in other countries namely Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and St. Lucia.
