National Carnival Queen donates cheque to Essence of Hope

(ZIZ News) — National Carnival Queen Orngel Erskine has donated a cheque for more than three thousand six hundred dollars to the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation during a handing over ceremony at Delisle Walwyn on Tuesday.

Erskine said the funds raised at her recent “Pink Breakfast Sale” contributed greatly to the donation and this is her way of playing a part in the fight against breast cancer.

“We may not be able to give them the full amount but it is just to assist them in some way because the money that was raised can help to at least safe one person’s life and it can also contribute to their expenses. I just thought that by having the breakfast sale that I can do my part and I can play my role which is to help to save someone’s life”, she explained.

She also thanked her sponsors for helping to make the breakfast a success.

“I would like to thank Delisle Walwyn limited for their contribution to this event. They have been helping me even before the pageant and they still assist me where necessary. I would also like to thank my sponsor, The Hon. Lindsay Grant for his contribution to this “Pink Breakfast Sale” as well as the chefs who did an awesome job”, the National Carnival Queen stated.

The cheque was then presented to the essence of hope breast cancer foundation members who accepted the donation with vibrant smiles on behalf of the organization.

The donation wraps up the reigning queens year of activities before passing on the crown this December.
