(ZIZ News) — Former Principal at the then Sandy Point High School, Mr. William Vincent Hodge has been officially announced as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education.

“Colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, it is my distinct honour to present to you my former grade 6 teacher and high school Principal, as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, the change maker and trend setter, Mr. William Vincent Hodge”, he announced.
Mr. Hodge made history in 1991 after he became the first past student of the sandy Point High School, who returned to the institution as Principal.
During his first official address as the new Permanent Secretary, Hodge said he was honoured to hold his new position.
“Today I am humbled by the fact that I am the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education. I give thanks to God for his infinite wisdom, his grace and his mercy. On reflection I think on how God has put me through some situations. He has put me in some certain places and through certain circumstances that have all made me able and stronger to better serve my country in this position at this time”, Hodge said.
Mr. Hodge replaces the former Permanent Secretary, Ionie Liburd-Willett who is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health.
