OAS and the University for PEACE offer Scholarships for Professional Development Courses

ZIZ News…Oct. 7, 2010 – More scholarships for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis as they seek to broaden their knowledge in a wide range of areas.

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the University for Peace (UPEACE) are granting scholarships for the following Professional Development courses:

One Week Course:

– Fund Raising for Sustainable Development

Two Week Courses:

– Sports and Peace
– Arms Control and Disarmament Today
– Environment Security Assessment; Principle and Practice
– Gender and Human Trafficking

Three Week Courses:

– Curricular Design for Peace and Conflict Studies
– Hunger, Famine and Food Security

According to Starret Greene, the OAS Representative in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, the program would start onsite in the city of Colon, Costa Rica, from January 17th to February 4th, 2011. The duration of the program would be between 1-3 weeks, and it would be taught in English. Mr. Greene further informed that the scholarships would cover 100% of the tuition cost, and a complimentary subsistence amount of $150.00 per week.
