OAS Helping to Transform Classrooms

StarretGreeneCZIZ News — The Organization of American States (OAS) will be helping teachers in St Kitts and Nevis move from the old chalk and talk method of teaching to a technological method.

The organization will be hosting a training workshop next week for school administrators and teachers on how to effectively use technology in the classrooms.

OAS Representative, Starret Greene says he is hoping this training will greatly impact the delivery of education in the federation.

He said, “We are providing training to our school administrators, our education officers as well as our teachers with a view towards enhancing learning in the classroom.”

Greene also says his organization is hoping this intervention will help change students’ view towards learning.

He said, “Our students must come to the classroom motivated; that they are enthused to come and learn because the classroom becomes a hive of activity where there is interaction between teacher and student and between students because of technology.”

The training workshop will be held on Monday, January 20th at the Curriculum Development Unit.

The sub-regional project also includes Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada as well as St Kitts and Nevis.
