OECS leaders approve the appointment of next Chief Justice

Outgoing Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 18TH 2012 (CUOPM) – The appointment of the next Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court has been approved, but the name will be announced in due course.

The OECS Authority at the recent 55th Meeting of OECS leaders in St. Vincent and the Grenadines approved the appointment of a new Chief Justice of the OECS Supreme Court who is set to assume the office following the retirement of the current Chief Justice, His Lordship, the Honourable Sir Hugh Rawlins.

OECS leaders also agreed to the appointment of a Director General of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority.

The names of both appointments will be given subsequently, said St. Kitts and Nevis’ OECS Commissioner, Her Excellency Mrs. Astona Browne.
