OECS Leading Role on Climate Change

ZIZ News– September 23, 2013 — The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Secretariat is mobilizing regional leaders to put measures in place to minimize impacts of climate change on key industries.

The OECS recently held a climate change seminar in St. Lucia that looked at the adaptation strategies for climate change.

Head of the OECS economic development policy unit, Rodinald Soomer says a united effort is needed to the address this importance issue at the regional level.

He says the Secretariat will continue to play its supportive role in mobilizing necessary resources.

The climate change seminar brought together over 80 experts from across the region.
