The new-born Tehjahni Jahnaih Walters was delivered at 6:20 a.m. and weighed 7 lbs.

Prime Minister Douglas first made the announcement as he raised a Toast at Camp Springfield, to the armed and unarmed units who were on parade earlier in the day.”I declined to name him today at the hospital, because I would have ensured that his middle name was Llewellyn. But I declined and I failed to do that. But I want us to congratulate today the proud mother …who comes from the fertile village of St. Paul’s and the equally fertile village of Saddlers is where the father has come from.”

Dr. Douglas also announced that three babies were born on September 16th which was observed as National Heroes Day.

A boy was born to Diane Coulbourne and a girl each to Sonia Scott and Marie Willett.
