Police and Defence Force units begins zero tolerance to crime and violence

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 7TH 2011 (CUOPM) – Commissioner of Police, Mr. C.E. Walwyn said Friday joint operations between the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Forces will begin immediately.

“This is part of the initiative to suppress crime and gang violence in the Federation,” said Mr. Walwyn, who said the information is for the general public.

He said that the initiative will be ongoing, 7 days a week, until further notice and the units will be conducting Stop and Search Exercises on both Islands.

“The public is asked to cooperate as we seek to arrest the rise of crime in the Federation,” said Mr. Walwyn in a statement.

He advised the public: “This is a zero tolerance initiative and we are asking you to please cooperate with our efforts. This is a zero tolerance initiative.”
