Police investigating Cotton Ground shooting

(ZIZ News) — The police are investigating a shooting incident in the Cotton Ground area that resulted in the death of one person and injuries to another.

According to reports, the shooting occurred at about 3:45 am on Monday.

According to a police report two women were shot by an unknown assailant(s) while sitting in a parked car in the Cotton Ground area.

The victims have been identified as Morella Webbe and Sonia Grant.

Both received gunshot injuries and were taken to the Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Webbe died while at the hospital.

Head of the Nevis Division, Superintendent Trevor Mills is urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything to call the police.

He said “Together we can rid our communities of the senseless violence. Our Forensics Unit has canvassed the scene but your assistance coupled with what we do will be difference in solving these crimes”.

Superintendent Mills also said that persons can assist the police in this crime or any other crime by calling any police station in the Federation, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 or by using the skn Report A Crime app on their smartphone to share the information.
