Police issues release on arrests and court convictions

ZIZ News…Jan 12, 2013 — Nyjah Adams and Ronald Berry of Buckley’s Estate were formally charged for offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession With Intent To Supply, which were committed on 9th January 2013.

Cleon Gilbert of Lower Cayon was formally charged for the offence of Causing Grievous Bodily Harm, which was committed on 19th December 2012 at Carmabolo Beach Club.

Robelto Noel of McKnight was formally charged for offences of Possession of Cannabis, Resisting Arrest and Escaping Lawful Custody, which were committed on 9th January 2013.

Meanwhile a numbers of persons were convicted for various infringements of the law.

Livingston Carey of Tabernacle was convicted for the offences of Driving Without A Valid and Unexpired Licence, Driving Without Insurance, and Driving Without Due Care and Attention, which were committed on 8th April 2012 at Lodge. For Driving Without A Valid and Unexpired Licence, he was fined $200.00 which is to be paid in two weeks or in default will serve one week in prison, for Driving Without Insurance, he was fined $500.00 which is to be paid in two weeks or in default will serve fourteen days in prison, and for Driving Without Due Care and Attention, he was cautioned.

Janice Dickenson of Sandy Point was convicted for offences of Permitting to Drive Without A relevant Driver’s Licence and Permitting to Drive Without Insurance which were committed on 8th April 2012, and was cautioned.

A juvenile was convicted for Robbery and wounding, which were committed on 20th November 2012, and was sentenced to thirty days imprisonment, and another juvenile was convicted for the offence of Carrying Abroad An Offensive Weapon, which was committed on 21st September 2012, and was placed on probation for twelve months in the sum of $1000.00 to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
