Police kept busy as they investigate another homicide

ZIZ News…Oct 20, 2011 – The Newtown community is in a state of shock following another daylight shooting which left a young man dead.

Ashton “Tuba” Williams was shot and killed on the corner of Pitcairn Street and Mad House Alley on Thursday 20th October, 2011.

The latest shooting death took place just before midday when Williams was gunned down, receiving multiple gun shots wounds to his body by an unknown assailant.

The Police and members of the Defence Force responded to the scene in quick time and went about their business of securing the area and collecting evidence that could lead to the perpetrator of the crime. Police Press and Public Relations officer Sgt. Stephen Hector told the media they are following some leads but so far no arrests have been made.

A number of persons gathered at the scene including family members after the news spread that this popular person who is originally from Newtown was shot and killed.

The entire area was cordoned off as the members of the Criminal Investigation department carried out their investigation. This latest homicide brings the total to 32 so far in St. Kitts Nevis for 2011.
