Police make arrest for several offences

ZIZ News…Feb 2 2012 – The police have made a number of arrests over the past week for offences ranging from driving without a valid driver’s license to larceny. A part from the recent arrests the results of a Post Mortem was also disclosed.

Insp. Smithen of the Criminal Investigation Department reported that between 11am and 12:30pm on 1/2/12 Forensic Pathologist Dr. Stephen Jones performed a post mortem at the JNF Hospital Mortuary on the body of the late Elvin Elvis Stanley. Dr. Jones concluded that death was due to gunshot injuries to the chest with hemorrhage and shock.

Meanwhile in other developments Yashwant Survase of Golf View, Frigate Bay was arrested for the offence of driving a motor car PA7192 when he was not a holder of a valid St. Kitts-Nevis driver’s license and for driving when he was not covered with insurance. Occurrence took place at Port Zante on the 1/2/12 at about 12:00pm.

Insp. Smithen reported that formal charges were presented to Jahida Elvis Williams alias ‘jah’ of Conaree for the offence of House Breaking and Larceny which was committed on 11th January, 2012 at Conaree, the dwelling house of Curtis Matthew of Conaree.

According to a Press release Sgt. Rogers reported that sixteen [16] marijuana plants were uprooted from an empty lot of land at Shadwell during a routine patrol on the 31/1/12. No one was held accountable for the find. Investigations are ongoing.

Cecil Charles of Lower Monkey hill and Rodell Clarke of Stapleton Village were both formally arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Cannabis committed on 29-01-12 at Lower Monkey Hill.

A Juvenile of Conaree was formally arrested for the offence of House Breaking and Larceny. The offence was committed on 11-01-12.
