Premier Parry Commends Nevisian Businessman on his Success

NEVIS — (March 25, 2010) Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry recently congratulated Nevisian businessman, Mr. Virgil Browne at the grand opening of the XPETROL gas station in St. James Parish on Friday.

Mr. Parry was present by invitation of Mr. Browne’s sister, Mrs. Veta Morton.

“It is really great to see how you will give a service to all of Nevis, but in particular the residents of St. James parish, with a well needed gas station and one stop shop! I commend you on your drive and your vision to make this dream of yours come alive,” commented Premier Parry.

Officials of the Nevis Island Administration, the media, clergy and well wishers from across Nevis were also in attendance to support Mr. Browne.

The event was chaired by family friend, Mr. Spencer Howell, who kept the ceremony lively by entertaining the guests with short stories of the days of being roommates with Franklin Browne – Virgil’s father, a well known former teacher and headmaster.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to prizes, as Delta Petroleum representative, Miss Sharon Hobson issued gas coupons compliments of Delta. DIGICEL was also on hand, as Marketing Manager, Mr. Derrick Huggins proudly represented the company by giving out prizes and discounts to lucky attendees .

XPETROL owner, Mr. Browne commented that it was a wish of his father to have a gas station at the Camps gate entrance, where Virgil now has his station. He said he “is very pleased with making this family dream a reality” and he concluded by saying thanks to all the people in his life who believed in him and helped him to reach where he is today.
